Fusion Marching Cadets

Music education plays a vital role in the development of our youth. Marching Music helps cultivate life applications such as self discipline, self esteem, teamwork, motor skills and muscle memory to name a few. In addition, we provide free musical instruments to our students, which removes a tremendous burden for many parents today. Our goal is to not only introduce beginner students to music, but to also help augment and support other musical activities and programs they are involved with in their local schools.

An analysis of our music program has shown the following results:

1. Our beginner students are capable of playing multiple notes quicker than average
2. Identify multiple notes & rhythm patterns
3. Have a basic foundation of marching that helps their understanding of timing, rhythm and coordination
4. Are advanced when compared to peers in school music programs

Our Intermediate and Advanced Cadets:

1. On average can play two full octaves on scales
2. Displays strong site reading skills
3. Demonstrate a strong ability to play by ear, retain and memorize music quickly
4. Are considered advanced in school music programs when compared with peers.

However, the greatest endorsement of our program comes not from us, but rather parents who can say first hand how it has benefited their child.

Benefits of being a Fusion Cadet

“As a member of the horn-line, Anthony has become more focused in the Corp and in Middle School, showing remarkable improvement in both”.

Bryan Edwards on Cadet Anthony

“My daughter has gained a great deal from participating with the Fusion Cadets. Of course, she has learned how to read music and to produce quality sound through her trumpet. She had no experience with either when she started and has stayed ahead of her peers at school in both of those areas because of being a cadet. But the outcomes I am most happy about are the sense of community she and I both get from her participation, and the self-confidence my daughter has developed by participating”.
